Blues Talk TV – Episode 184   2 comments

This week on Blues Talk we take a look back at Leinster’s loss away to Ulster, a loss that all but ended any hopes Leinster had of making the Pro12 semi-finals. We also look forward to the “Empty Bowl”, the European Champions Cup final.

  1. MOCs selection policy at outhalf was deeply flawed. No other outhalf was used for the entire season. Gopperts form deserved dropping even if it was just to wake him up. Madigan playing at twelve was MOC saying I don’t trust you. Also he was saying to Reid, Macken and D,Arcy I don’t trust you either. What ever MOC was thinking goes against any norms in selection in this day and age. Weird

  2. The vast bulk of the selection issues are on MOC’s head and that’s fair enough. However, in positions 9, 10,12, and 13 there were no candidates putting their hands up above all others. I would have some sympathy there.

Having said that, He did not do a whole lot to improve the situation by giving other players any kind of shot. Marsh’s best showing was “unused sub” for example.
